Casa
de los Espíritus de Montaña
is located west of the Plaza de las Armas which is considered
the center of Alamos. We're in a residential area populated
by the majority of foreigners residing in Alamos as well as
many local Mexican families. While
enjoying a 10 minute casual walk to the plaza, you will
pass between grand colonials dating back to the 17th century
which have been restored to perfection. Unlike many towns
and cities in the states, here in Alamos, anyone can walk
anywhere day or night without incident. Be prepared to return
greetings and smiles while passing locals and foreigners along
your walks.
Our Mexican friends
hold dear their relationships with family and friends. When
there is a wedding, Quinceañera (a young woman's 15th
birthday), or other occasion to celebrate, music flows (reverberates)
through the streets between the tall walls of the colonials
from the barrios. If you are passing by one of these wonderful
"celebrations of life," you will probably be invited
to join in. On the other hand, if you wish to sleep at 2 or
3 in the morning then you will appreciate our quiet west
side location.
